My relationship with music has always been a journey of discovery. While studying at the conservatory as a classical violinist, I also took lyrical singing lessons<\/strong>. This experience opened a door to a deep understanding of the voice and vocal techniques.<\/p>\n But for me, the real adventure began when I felt the desire to explore violin improvisation. To achieve this, I had to refine my musical ear, and I started associating the voice with the violin. Gradually, I ventured into the complex world of scat as a part of my jazz improvisation learning…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n My love for improvisation with the voice led me to take jazz singing lessons. At the beginning, my lyrical vocal technique didn’t quite align with the jazz style, but over time, I discovered my chest voice\u2014a revelation that changed how I approached singing.<\/p>\n I also learned the lyrics to some jazz standards. This new skill allowed me to sing on stage, in jams, and in concerts, creating an even deeper connection between the voice and the violin. Both became tools for storytelling through improvisation, a way to explore creativity through a unique sonic fusion.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n During a class at his school, Didier Lockwood heard me combine scat and the violin, a blend that excited him. He saw the potential of this fusion and encouraged me to continue working this way on my improvisations. According to him, it was a means to tell a better musical story while playing. His support has been a constant source of inspiration.<\/p>\n Another pivotal moment occurred during an encounter with guitarist Ninine Garcia. He loved my live vocal and violin fusion and invited me to share the stage with him. At each concert, he encouraged me to scat and play at the same time. He also pushed me to trust my voice, regardless of any criticism.<\/p>\n A memorable anecdote: I had stopped singing for a month after receiving negative comments from a bartender. I shared this experience with Ninine, and he was almost angry! He pushed me to start singing again, asking me to trust his judgment rather than random critiques.
