Hello everyone,
Today, I am excited to announce the launch of my new workshop, FRIBOURG MINOR SWING SESSIONS, from June 25 to 27, 2026!
Why Fribourg?
This workshop is very special to me because it is a true homecoming. I grew up in the village of Misery, right next to Fribourg, where I went to school and spent my youth. My family and childhood friends are still there.
Organizing this event where I come from is a project close to my heart, and I can’t wait for you to discover this city.
Fribourg is a magnificent city, steeped in history with its St. Nicholas Cathedral overlooking the Sarine River and its medieval old town. It is a human-scale city (40,000 inhabitants), vibrant and very welcoming.
The Concept: An Urban Immersion
I want to clarify that this format is completely different from our workshops in the Cévennes. We won’t be in a secluded natural setting, but right in the city.
I was inspired by Jimmy Grant’s Django camp in Oregon:

We will meet during the day for intensive classes in a wonderful setting with beautiful rooms: the Centre le Phénix.

Every evening, we will take over a different venue for concerts and jams.

Accommodation and meals are independent.
The idea is to have a real-world experience, where music echoes through different bars and city locations every day. It will be much more than a workshop: A TRUE MINI FESTIVAL!
Budget: Accessible Switzerland
We know Switzerland has a reputation for being expensive, but Fribourg is much more affordable than Zurich or Geneva. Starting from 65 euros per night, you can find very decent rooms on Airbnb. The city is small, and the workshop venues are all roughly a 5 to 10-minute walk from the train station.
Program, Special Guests, and Surprises
For 3 days, we will teach intensively in collaboration with guitarist Jimmy Grant. On Friday, we will welcome Manu Hagman and Charles Fréchette for “VOYAGE HOTCLUB” concerts and masterclasses.
We will also have other special guests joining us for the evening concerts. Saturday will be the highlight for you with the student concert.
And if you come with a pre-formed group and let us know in advance, we will even try to organize a small extra concert just for you during the workshop!

On Sunday the 28th at 2 PM, we will play as the “VOYAGE HOTCLUB” quartet in a venue near the Geneva train station. If you would like to end your workshop there on your way back with a final note of inspiration, you are more than welcome!
