EXTRACTS FROM ONLINE JAZZ VIOLIN LESSONS
Here are some extracts from online jazz violin lessons I gave in spring 2021! First of all, a first series of lessons in French where I talk about pentatonic scales, and then a series about the jazz sound on the violin, this time in English!
THE C MINOR PENTATONIC SCALE:
PART 1: I SHOW THE
PENTATONIC SCALE AND HOW TO PRACTICE IT
PART 2: I SHOW HOW TO PRACTICE
THE SCALE WITH SKIP NOTES
PART 3: BLUES IMPROVISATIONS
WITH THE C MINOR PENTATONIC SCALE AND THE C BLUES SCALE
I show you how I improvise on minor and major blues with the pentatonic scale of C minor; then with the BLUES RANGE of C resulting from the pentatonic of C minor. I also play phrases built on the blues scale, which I repeat over the entire blues structure.
PART 4 : IMPROVISATION EXERCISES ON
THE BLUES SCALE
I first play the theme of minor blues Mr PC, then I offer exercises and tips by improvising on this structure; using the blues scale. I insist on the repetition of patterns to help build a dialogue!
HOW TO FIND A JAZZ SOUND ?

These elements, as you will see, are very concrete …
PART 2 :
In this video, I explain how to attack the note in order to have a more jazzy sound, and I do exercises live with you to learn to master the ghost notes with vibrato!
